Information Services Group / Applications Development and Operations
Full-time: 35 hours per week
Fixed-term: 2 years
Join our team and help to steer the implementation of the University’s ambitious Curriculum Transformation Programme: an initiative that is modernising the shape, design, and delivery of our curriculum to meet the needs of our future students.
We are seeking an enterprise architect to lead the development, delivery and governance of the business and IT architectures of the programme. You will refine and populate the architecture models and co-ordinate the architectural aspects of the associated analysis, design and implementation projects, in line with the University’s enterprise architecture and overall strategy.
The Opportunity
This role is offered as a fixed-term contract for two years. Beyond this, the role may be extended subject to funding arrangements, but this is not guaranteed.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns to support your childcare or other responsibilities.
The team is based in a large office in central Edinburgh. We support hybrid working and you will have the option to work remotely for up to 4 days a week if you wish. If you are successful, you should live or plan to move within commuting distance of Edinburgh.
Secondments may be considered for internal candidates.

You will also work with service owners to co-ordinate the development of benchmarks, stress tests and post-implementation measurements.
Working with project managers and programme managers, you will co-ordinate this analysis across projects and present an overall picture of the work required to transition to the target state. You will help to establish, disseminate and oversee the use of architecture-related templates, standards and governance processes for co-ordinating this work.
In the second year, your focus will gradually progress to providing architecture co‑ordination across multiple implementation projects.
