Job Purpose:

You will work closely with the Project Manager to deliver a vibrant and inclusive youth festival and conference across three colleges. The role requires flexibility, creativity, and innovation to engage young people in the planning process while ensuring the event is visually dynamic and logistically smooth. The candidate must be adaptable, with a strong understanding of inclusive practices and effective partnership building. 

Responsibilities

Creative & Visual Design 

  • Develop and implement visually appealing and innovative event concepts that resonate with young people. 
  • Ensure all elements of the festival, from stage design to digital content, reflect the youth-led vision and are inclusive and accessible. 

Event Planning & Logistics: 

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to organise all event logistics, including venue setup, equipment, and scheduling across the three college locations. 
  • Curate and book appropriate entertainment, speakers and activities. 
  • Ensure that the event runs smoothly, troubleshooting any logistical challenges that arise. 

Youth Engagement: 

  • Actively engage young people in the planning and decision-making process, empowering them to co-create the event. 
  • Facilitate youth-led discussions and workshops to gather input and ensure their voices are central to the festival’s design. 

Partnership Strengthening: 

  • Work alongside the Project Manager to build and maintain relationships with key partners, including colleges, community organisations, and potential sponsors. 
  • Ensure strong collaboration and communication with all stakeholders to secure resources and support for the event. 

Inclusive Practice: 

  • Promote and implement inclusive practices to ensure the festival is accessible to all young people, including those from diverse backgrounds and abilities. 
  • Ensure that the programme reflects diverse perspectives and is welcoming to everyone. 

Communication & Collaboration: 

  • Maintain clear and open communication with the Project Manager, YSA team, and all involved parties to keep the project on track. 
  • Be a confident communicator, able to present ideas and engage with a variety of audiences, including young people, partners, and stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with the Volunteering Matters and #IWill communications teams to develop promotional strategies and materials.  

Flexibility & Adaptability: 

  • Be adaptable in your approach, able to adjust plans as necessary to meet evolving needs and challenges during the project lifecycle. 
  • Work collaboratively with the team to problem-solve and implement creative solutions. 

Evaluation and Reporting: 

  • Implement post – event evaluation and reporting  
  • Proven experience in event production, particularly with creative or youth-focused projects. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young people. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage logistics and execute events with attention to detail. 
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills  
  • Flexibility, versatility, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Commitment to inclusive practice, ensuring events are accessible and welcoming to diverse groups.
