Open Systems (.Net) Solution Architect
Euroclear
United Kingdom
Euroclear is seeking a Windows .Net Solution Architect to be part of their dynamic team. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to craft the future of IT solutions in the financial securities markets and collaborate with a world-class team in multiple countries.
The Group Business Solutions (GBS) division ensures the competitiveness of Euroclear by delivering reliable and sustainable IT solutions for the financial securities markets. Our technical teams deliver new IT solutions and improve existing applications for both our internal and external clients. We deploy changes into the production environment in a controlled and structured way that doesn’t compromise production stability, and we ensure applicative production support.
Within GBS, you will join the “Solutions Architecture” team within the Software Engineering Department, where you can play a key role in the definition of the target architecture and end to end design of initiatives across the different GBS functional domains. You will be focussed on supporting and evolving our existing Windows .Net landscape and working closely with the Brussels/Poland/UK/India/France based Open Systems delivery teams.
Some travel will be required, 2-3 trips per quarter (of usually 2-3 days) mainly to Europe, dependent on your location.
- Drive the delivery of cross-functional IT projects as a Solution Architect, ensuring the successful development and implementation of end-to-end architecture solutions.
- Collaborate with requirement owners and domain/Enterprise architects from inception to realisation, guiding IT engineers and application experts to craft fit-for-purpose, high-quality solutions.
- Bridge the gap between Enterprise Architecture and IT delivery teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and domain target architectures.
- Contribute to the development of Solution Architecture and Software Engineering practices at Euroclear, sharing reusable solution patterns and building blocks with the community.
- Apply your hands-on technology and delivery experience to define domain target architectures and roadmaps.
- Lead the design of new technology solutions within the Software Engineering Department, focusing on open platforms, software development tools, application integration middleware, and infrastructure design.
- Engage in communities of practice with other solution and domain architects, sharing standard methodologies and lessons learned.
- Drive the continuous improvement of the Solution Architecture practice.
- Extensive track record in the IT industry, with a proven track record as an end-to-end solution architect on large-scale transformation projects.
- Expertise in crafting, developing, and deploying critically important transactional systems in large, complex organisations.
- Experience with large-scale agile projects using DevOps practices, including CI/CD.
- Proficiency in crafting Event-Driven and Service-Based architectures, with experience in crafting and implementing microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Proficient in Windows development using .Net stacks, with knowledge of Azure Cloud, APIs, and integration and data technologies. Experience with Java and Linux is a plus.
- Familiarity with JavaScript front-end frameworks like Angular is advantageous.
- Ability to address complex systems and problems across functions, locations, and organizations.
- Capable of conducting architectural analysis autonomously, providing pragmatic recommendations tailored to the company context.
- Skilled in both high-level strategic work and detailed technical challenges, offering advice and expertise to Enterprise and Domain Architects.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a pragmatic approach to delivering actionable results.
- Proactive in identifying the need for change and proposing innovative solutions to improve IT software delivery and engineering processes.
- Effective communicator, able to advocate for architecture recommendations to project/agile delivery teams and senior management.
- Proficient in English, with excellent communication skills to champion positive relationships across the organisation.
- Ability to coach and mentor new team members in applying solutions architecture and understanding domain interactions and complexities.
- Knowledge of post-trade market infrastructures (e.g., CSD) and Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, IAF, OAA) is desirable.
- Experience in the Financial Services industry, with an understanding of post-trade, settlement, or CSD business processes and regulatory environments, is a plus.
Join us and be a part of a team that drives innovation and excellence in IT solutions for the financial securities markets.
