Posting Summary | The Department of Political Science at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, seeks applicants for a full-time, non-tenure-track position to teach undergraduate classes in the field of political theory, beginning September 1, 2025. Appointment will be at the Instructor rank and is eligible for renewal. The appointment entails a 6-course teaching load (3/3) per academic year, a minimum salary of $75,152, and health and pension benefits. PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Political Science or related field (e.g. law, gender studies) by start date is required. The successful candidate will teach courses in the department’s undergraduate curriculum, especially our large lecture introduction to political theory course, feminist theory courses, and courses in the political theory canon, broadly conceived. The ideal candidate will develop courses that complement our department’s strengths in Women and Politics and Race and Ethnic politics, mentor undergraduate honors students, and contribute to the department’s career mentoring program. Experience working with teaching assistants is preferred.
