General Description
This position(s) will be filled on a rolling basis as applications are received. The job posting may close earlier than the date on this notice if all positions are filled.
Under the general supervision of the Library Deputy Director and the day-to-day supervision of the Public Services Supervisors, the Library Page is responsible for checking in and shelving all materials, and maintaining shelf order throughout the library. This position may also be assigned other circulation, technical, and programming services support tasks.

Administrative Details:
This position is a Non-Regular Permanent Part-time position. Non-regular permanent part-time positions are not eligible for participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System. Other benefits available are dependent on the hours/status to which applicants are hired. See the benefit portion of the job posting for details.

Job Functions
Essential Duties
- Maintain reliable and regular work attendance and timeliness.
- Performs alpha-numeric sorting and filing tasks.
- Empties book drop and moves returned items to proper place for check in.
- Checks in returned materials on automated circulation system routing materials appropriately.
- Arranges returned materials on carts and re-shelves them in proper order.
- Shelf-reads and straightens materials on the shelves to maintain good order.
- Searches the shelves for materials.
- Physically prepares materials for circulation in accordance with processing guidelines, as needed.
- Answers directional questions and refers non-directional questions to the appropriate staff members.

- Performs other related job duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of library methods and procedures.
Skills
- Possess or develop a working understanding of the Dewey Decimal system of library materials arrangement.
- Effectively communicate ideas and information both in written and oral form.
- Effectively read and understand information contained in memoranda, reports, and other formats.
- Calculate basic arithmetic problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) without the aid of a calculator.
- Keyboarding and filing
Abilities
- Ability to understand and perform routine library tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and public.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to maintain a regular work schedule.
- Ability to set priorities in order to meet assignment deadlines.

The benefits listed on this page are available to employees in City of Middleton Non-regular, Classified Service who are considered part-time. Non-regular part-time status means the employee is regularly scheduled for, and working, 22 or less hours per week hours per week. Non-regular, Classified Service positions ar not eligible to participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System, but are listed on the City`s classified Salary Plan.
