Team Leader - Product Technology

Next Leicester, Leicestershire, United Kingdom

At NEXT, not only are we one of the UK’s largest fashion retailers, but we’re also one of the largest listed companies, full-stop. Selling our products and thousands of world-famous brands, both in-store and online. What’s more, we’re growing. Fast. And it’s the kind of growth and investment that is exciting for everyone in our business.

You can`t have NEXT without product, so we need the Product team to deliver the tech that allows our inhouse product department to design, plan and deliver exciting NEXT/Lipsy ranges for our customers via our extensive portfolio of stores and our outstanding website. Their focus = real time data through all our systems processes.

The role

Technology drives what we do. Plain and simple. As we’re going through a huge change as a business, we need a solid team with us who are committed to driving our systems forward.

As a Team Leader in our Product Technology team you’ll play a key part in this. Your focus will be on developing our really special teams of Support Developers & Analysts, ensuring the environment and culture we operate in is top notch! We love to work efficiently here so it’ll be your task to keep things moving so that you can have a direct impact on our system and process improvements. You’ll do this using different technologies and strategies:

  • Understanding, following and enforcing Service Management processes including Incident, Change and Problem Management
  • Ability to resolve issues to restore service from a technical resolution point of view
  • Being passionate and having experience in developing technical teams

In addition, we’re looking for you to be:

  • Able to speak, read and write English at a level that enables you to complete your role, for example, to understand instructions and communicate effectively with stakeholders and/or other team members
  • Experienced in effectively working in a collaborative manner in a large scale, fast paced environment within a multifunctional technical team

As a Team Leader you’ll manage the Support team’s incidents and requests as well as working collaboratively across various teams and stakeholders. We’re also looking for someone who has a technical background so that you can spot any gaps where something needs to be implemented and be confident in communicating that.

You’ll be doing all this from our Leicestershire Head Office on a hybrid basis. A fast-paced, encouraging and supportive environment in which everyone brings an energy and a commitment to delivering for our customers and their own careers. Bring your energy. Play to your strengths. Make things bigger and better than before. Let’s Take It On.

We’re always happy to have candid chats about what you need, and where you need to be in order to be at your best. So, flexible working is fine by us.

So if you’re an expert in this field, have strong communication skills and considerable Technology team leadership experience, work with initiative and can build great working relationships within the business, this is the place for you – and your career.
