Manager - Regional Sales Support - Freight Forwarding

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Sales with day-to-day activities, reports, and other tasks.
  • Assist the sales team in onboarding new customers.
  • Ensure SCO sales adhere to the established pricing and credit policies; assist the team with the smooth execution of FF businesses as needed.
  • Monthly RSM Outlook: Oversee the monthly outlook of Regional Sales Managers (RSMs).
  • Monitor and log sales leads for both SCO and overseas markets.
  • Record meeting minutes and follow up on action items from weekly RSM meetings.
  • Prepare, monitor and maintain Reports for
    • Sales Performance, Pricing tool, other analytical data - Maintained on a regularly basis and shared with FF LT   
    • Sales incentives as and when required.
    • Region wise sales, performance dashboards, and key metrics for regular review.                                                     
    • Trade Lane analysis         
    • Volume analysis
    • Monthly forecasting         
    • ROI report for each Sales member   
  • Prepare and submit Daily Sales Reports (DSR) as per customer requirements.
  • Ensure all HO reports are made available on time and BOB updated
  • Track and monitor the growth sales cadence.
  • Prepare customer quotations using the Cargorunner system.
  • Coordinate and follow-up with operations (India/Overseas) after receiving customer nominations.
  • Submit SOPs and quotes to the operations and billing departments for execution, with assistance from sales/pricing.
  • Provide timely updates to customers on shipment statuses.
  • Follow up on invoices and documents to be sent to customers.
  • Escalate and resolve shipment execution issues in collaboration with pricing, sales, operations, or finance teams.
  • Visit customers with the sales team for monthly or quarterly reviews.
  • Circulate minutes of meetings (MOM) and ensure completion of action points.
  • Participate in joint sales calls with respective sales personnel as needed.
  • Engage in cross-selling and deep selling to existing corporate customers.
  • Conduct follow-ups on payments with corporate customers.
  • Central Sales Support Coordination: 
    • Serve as the central point of contact for branch sales support teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
    • Facilitate the smooth execution of sales processes and initiatives across all regions.
  • Business Program Management & marketing
    • Standardise and implement best practices for Reports & MIS, Manuals, Quote formats, SOPs etc           
    • Develop Geo/ Product specific strategies and presentations     
    • Keep Country capability deck updated and comprehensive (In conjunction with Comms and Marketing)
    • Case Study development - All Products (Work with Digitial Marketing team)          
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Track and analyze sales performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of new sales support staff.
  • CRM Management: 
    • Content Accuracy and ensuring India FF Sales team adheres to all requirements
    • Trainings to new joinees - within 2 days of joining and refresher every quarter
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to branch sales support teams to ensure alignment with national sales objectives and standards.
  • Any other activity as seeked by Director - Sales FF for daily management of FF Sales

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Graduate with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Ocean Freight industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced sales and customer service skills
  • Process centric
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel and presentations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
